Introduction
cURL is a command line tool that lets you transfer data from or to servers with URL syntax commands.it supports a range of common network protocols, currently including HTTP,HTTPS,FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, TFTP, LDAP, DAP, DICT, TELNET, FILE, IMAP, POP3, SMTP and RTSP. System admins and developers uses this tool for various day to day activities.
Prerequisites
- Preinstalled Windows 10, Windows Server
- RDP Access with Admin Privileges
There are two ways to use curl on windows using Git client and official curl package manager.
1) Use CURL with Git
If you want to curl using git if already installed otherwise you can download git client for windows. and install. Once installed you can curl.exe on below path,
C:\Program Files\Git\mingw64\bin\Open the command prompt, navigate to above path and Now you can run from the command line by typing:
curl https://rushikeshn.sg-host.com/hostingnix.comOutput:
C:\Users\hostingnix> cd C:\Program Files\Git\mingw64\bin C:\Program Files\Git\mingw64\bin>curl https://rushikeshn.sg-host.com/hostingnix.com <!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en-US" prefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns#">
2) Download and Install CURL on Windows VPS
Download the curl package , make a folder in (C:\curl) and extract the contents in curl folder .
Find and Place curl.exe in a folder in (e.g. C:\curl\curl.exe)
Open the command prompt, navigate to above path and Now you can run from the command line by typing:
curl https://rushikeshn.sg-host.com/hostingnix.comOutput:
C:\Users\hostingnix> cd C:\Program Files\Git\mingw64\bin C:\Program Files\Git\mingw64\bin>curl https://rushikeshn.sg-host.com/hostingnix.com <!DOCTYPE html><html lang="en-US" prefix="og: http://ogp.me/ns#">
